D7040 RYLA PROFIL DES PARTICIPANTS PROFILE
In 2008, the RYLA selected participants will have the pleasure to share their past leadership experiences with others.
For example:
RYLA delegate from the Deep River Interact Club will share on the El Salvador Mission.
The candidate selected by the Rotary Club of Shawville is the founder of Sports for Social Change and a facilitator, Multi-cultural Attitudes Towards Everyone for SAVE R US International (Students Against Violence Everywhere Are Us).
Another delegate from the Montreal Concordia Rotaract Club spent an academic semester aboard "The Scholar Ship", traversing the globe with students from around the world.

Séminaires de formation au leadership (RYLA)
Les séminaires RYLA sont des programmes rotariens destinés aux jeunes.
Le RYLA met l’accent sur le leadership, le sens du civisme et l’épanouissement personnel.
Les objectifs du programme RYLA sont les suivants :
Démontrer le respect et le souci du Rotary pour la jeunesse.
Offrir une formation efficace à des jeunes susceptibles de devenir des leaders.
Encourager le leadership des jeunes auprès de leurs pairs.
Témoigner une reconnaissance publique aux jeunes menant des actions au service de leur collectivité.

WHAT TO BRING:
Ø Clothing, mostly casual (jeans etc…), hiking shoes/boots, raincoat, hat, but include some dress clothes appropriate for a Rotary meeting and banquet at the end of the Seminar.
Ø Toiletries (soap, toothpaste etc.)but not towels, sleeping bags or bedding
Ø Musical instruments are most welcome. Informal get-togethers provide lots of chance to use them.
Ø Pens, erasers, etc. (papers and folders supplied)
Ø Recreation time is allotted each day, so bring along the necessities for whatever interests you: footballs, soccer balls, Frisbees, etc.
ACCOMODATIONS:
Residence type; clean and semi-private. You will share a room and a small bathroom with another RYLA candidate for the week. Meals are served in the dining hall.
SUPERVISION:
Rotarians and Ski le Gap staff will be on hand at all times for information and assistance.
BEHAVIOR CODE:
Ø No intoxicating liquor or drugs are allowed.
Ø Awardees are not to leave the Ski le Gap grounds without the permission of the Seminar Director.
Ø Awardees’ friends, not enrolled in RYLA may not visit.
Ø Everyone will participate in meals at the specified time.
Ø The Ski le Gap rules and bylaws must be strictly observed at all times.

In District 7040, RYLA is based on the Rotary 4 way test.
For Rotary, The Four-Way Test is the cornerstone of all action. It has been for years, and it will be in the future. Of the things we think, say or do
1) Is it the TRUTH?
2) Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
The test is one of the hallmarks of Rotary. Since it was developed in 1932 by Herbert J. Taylor, who later became Rotary International President.
Au District 7040, le RYLA est basé sur le Critère des quatre questions: Formulé en 1932 par Herbert Taylor qui devint par la suite président du Rotary International. Traduit dans plus de 100 langues, il est suivi par les Rotariens comme par de nombreuses organisations et individus dans leur vie professionnelle.

In the past, amongst the many RYLA participants, we had long and short term Youth Exchange students, others from Interact and Rotaract Clubs and some University scholarship recipients.
All great ambassadors for the many different programs offered by Rotary to youth.

At RYLA, during this leadership seminar, the participants will learn:
leadership skills,
communication skills,
how to build self-confidence and self esteem,
conflict resolution and
how to understand community and global citizenship,
cooperative behaviour and charity.

During meals, participants are chosen to perform a "Who Am I?" Presenting themselves in front of others (School, work, interests).

For Rotary, The Four-Way Test is the cornerstone of all action. It has been for years, and it will be in the future. Of the things we think, say or do
1) Is it the TRUTH?
2) Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
The test is one of the hallmarks of Rotary. Since it was developed in 1932 by Herbert J. Taylor, who later became Rotary International President.
Au District 7040, le RYLA est basé sur le Critère des quatre questions: Formulé en 1932 par Herbert Taylor qui devint par la suite président du Rotary International. Traduit dans plus de 100 langues, il est suivi par les Rotariens comme par de nombreuses organisations et individus dans leur vie professionnelle.

Les Clubs Rotary assument les frais d'inscription au séminaire de formation au leadership RYLA et le transport aller-retour pour les jeunes qu'ils ont accepté de parrainer.
Rotary Clubs assume the RYLA leadership training seminar fees and the transport for all the participants they accepted to sponsor.

In the past, amongst the many RYLA participants, we had long and short term Youth Exchange students, others from Interact and Rotaract Clubs and some University scholarship recipients.
All great ambassadors for the many different programs offered by Rotary to youth.
Par le passé, parmi les nombreux participants au RYLA, nous avions, entre autres, des jeunes en échanges court ou long terme, des membres de clubs Interact ou Rotaract et des récipiendaires de bourses d'études.
Tous d'excellents ambassadeurs des nombreux programmes du Rotary offerts aux jeunes.
At RYLA, during this leadership seminar, the participants will learn:
leadership skills,
communication skills,
how to build self-confidence and self esteem,
conflict resolution and
how to understand community and global citizenship,
cooperative behaviour and charity.
Durant le séminaire de formation au leadership RYLA, les participants apprendont sur:
les aptitudes au leadership,
les aptitudes de communication;
la confiance en soi et l'estime de soi;
la résolution de conflit;
la compréhension des communautés locales et internationales;
la coopération et la charité.
During meals, participants are chosen to perform a "Who Am I?" Presenting themselves in front of others (School, work, interests).
Pendant les repas, les participants sont choisis, à tour de role, pour parler d'eux, de leurs études, travail et passe-temps favoris.
